Individualized Approach to Dual Diagnosis Treatment

At Womens Treatment, along with treating all of a person's disorders concurrently, we also embrace the philosophy that every individual should be treated as an individual. Every person does not respond the same to treatment, medication or have the same type of motivation. For these reasons we provide every patient with an individualized plan for recovery. The patient's therapist meets with the treating psychiatrist, nursing team and support staff to gather the necessary information to develop a plan. Prior to finalizing the plan, the patient is included to provide the therapist with additional information and offer their input. In most cases the dual diagnosis treatment plan will focus on enhancing the patient's physical, emotional and spiritual recovery. If we fail to address all the individual's issues while in dual diagnosis treatment, the person is at a much higher risk for relapse.

The Family and Dual Diagnosis Treatment

In almost every case, the family has suffered in the midst of a person's active addiction and untreated mental health issues. With the problems that have been created within the family system, it is imperative that the family participate in the individual's dual diagnosis treatment. Women's Treatment Family Program is a powerful three day treatment experience which promotes healing and renewed trust for every member of the family. While some dual diagnosis treatment programs only provide one day a week of family therapy, we recognized long ago, the importance of bringing the family directly into the treatment process.
